Bev Clark and I saw the swans this afternoon around 4, and they were close
enough to the road that we were able to get really good scoped looks. There was
one with a blue collar, but we weren’t able to discern the later/number code.
Birders visiting the mid-valley to chase the Blueberry Road longspurs and
bunting near Peoria might have fun extending their trip to include the (500 or
so?) swans on American Drive near Halsey, just a few miles farther south. Not
birds, but driving around on the backroads you might also see flocks of sheep
with half-grown lambs, some of which were gamboling in the afternoon sun.

The Tundra Swans on American Drive in Halsey are still there. I thought
they would have migrated north by now.
