Hello everyone,
Last Monday, Jan. 11, Christie & I checked out Lake Selmac (Illinois
Valley, Josephine Co.) for the first time in weeks. Nothing special
but birds included: ~20 Canads Geese; American Widgeon (about 6); ~25
Greeen-Winged Teal; 5 Canvasbacks (all drakes); ~ 65 Ring-Necked
Duck; 2 Lesser & 1 Greater Scaup; ~35 Bufflehead; 8 Hooded and 7
Common Merganser; ~35 Ruddy Duck; ~16 Pied-Billed Grebe; (1) Eared
Grebe; (2) Western Grebe; (4) DC Comorant; (1) Great Blue Heron; ~65 Am. Coot;
In the fields off Martin Drive (off Rockydale Rd. south of Cave
Junction): Maybe 55 Canada Geese w/ 7 Cacklers & 1 White-Fronted.
