Subject: [obol] A couple of count-week birds for Hart Mountain CBC
Hart Mountain refuge staff have been seeing a Barred Owl and a Blue Jay in the
Warner Valley portion of the circle, over the weekend. Hopefully they'll stick
around for the count on Wednesday.
We have good numbers of volunteers lined up for that count but we could still
use a few more for Friday's CBC at Sheldon NWR (free lodging for volunteers in
the Sheldon refuge bunkhouse).
Temperatures have been cold (down in the low single digits Fahrenheit this
morning but warming up to the high 20s) and they had a bit of snow, but road
conditions are reasonably good. Road cameras at Adel, Warner Pass, Alkali Lake
etc. are showing bright sunshine and bare pavement -- should be good weather
for birding out there!
I'll appreciate if someone could forward this to COBOL. Thanks and hope to see
some of you there, or at least at Summer Lake tomorrow!
