I refound the two PALM WARBERS Glen found on Wednesday- close to the motel
and the water behind Freddies in Coos Bay. No Clay-colored today though.
These are most certainly different birds than the North Bend birds. Hope
the all stay for the Coos Bay CBC!
Happy birding,

I saw two palm warblers in their fall plumage today around 1:30 pm moving
through the bushes and trees along the waters edge behind the Fred Meyer in
Coos Bay. That's quite a distance from the N. Bend airport. May or may not
be the sames ones.
From there I drove up to Florence to the Siuslaw Jetty. Arrived around
3:30. Rainy, cold and very windy. The usual gulls were soaring around and
in the water were double crested and pelagic cormorants. The highlights
were: two red phalaropes in a small pond nearby, a brant that allowed me
to walk to within 10 feet and a black turnstone whizzed by with its
unmistakable black and white back and wing markings. The brant and
turnstone were both firsts for me. A good day!
