It was pointed out to me by another birder who was there with me this
morning that the woman who was so gracious and welcoming is named Kate
Lauber, and the person who posted about the Redpoll is Alexander Lauber.
The obvious conclusion is that she did speak with her husband about it, who
then posted it himself.
But with concerns about the neighbor, my suggestions to avoid neighbors'
yards is likely still a good one.
