I just had an juvenile Yellow-bellied sapsucker along the Willamette River just
west of the Ferry Street Bridge. I saw it on the south side of the river just
ne of the Celeste Campbell community center altho it flew north across the
river when I last saw it. I had good views of it in bright daylight around 3
pm. The bird is still in full juvenile plumage with broad light streaks in the
face. I have seen a few of these birds in this plumage in Oregon previously
but not for several years.
