I have had White-throated Sparrows and several White-crowned, Fox,
Golden-crowned, and Song Sparrows, several Spotted Towhees and a half dozen
Oregon (DE) Juncos coming into my native plant side yard the past few days
where I throw a handful of birdseed most days
My backyard has been hosting a beautiful fat and sleek 3 point (3 each side
with a small drop down tine on one side) Buck with no sign of parasites.
He would make great jerky but I live in Salem city, a stone's throw from
the Willamette River and I no longer keep a hunting license. His Doe and 2
Yearlings are around much of the time as well. Whenever they eat leaves
from the large Olive Tree in the front yard I chase them off. Yesterday I
hit the Doe with a pear in the backyard before the three slowly walked out
the garden gate and jumped a fence to the neighbor and then back to the
river. They were eating the last of my tomatoes, those bast*rds
The weather has been dismal and so otherwise there seem to be very few
birds in my yard other than Ruby-crowned Kinglet, Bewick's Wren, BC
Chickadees and Northern Flicker
