gull pages, where someone posts a picture of a flock of
gulls,"How many species can you find?" The fact that it's
a single image, and not live birds, immediately diminishes
the game a bit. Can anybody suggest a good place in Portland these
days for close quarters gull observation now that Westmoreland Park has
been ruined by
"restoration"? Not only are the gulls and ducks gone at that
park but there's never any people. Every sunny afternoon
it used to attract dozens of humans there, and scores on the
weekend. I go by several times a week and haven't seen
one person there in months.
