Back in December I found Wrentits just outside McMinnville while scouting
for our CBC. I told other birders about the location, but I don't believe
anyone was able to relocate them. The spot is along a narrow, busy road, so
it is a challenging place to bird. I think a stopped briefly earlier this
year and didn't find them.
Today I rode my bike out that way and decided to try for the birds. I was
able to put the bike off the road, and traffic is reduced these days. The
spot is a brushy hillside 50 yds north of the junction of Peavine Rd and
Youngberg Hill Rd. (45.195201,-123.261879) After a bit of calling, I got a
response and a bird came down to the edge of the road.
Photos attached. I know, Don't quit my day job.

Subject: Wrentits are marching on McMinnville
While scouting for the Yamhill Valley CBC on Thurs, Dec 26, I found a new
cluster of WRENTITS 3.9 miles closer to McMinnville than the birds I found
earlier this year, May 25.
The previous spot was on the north end of Muddy Valley. The new location is
just north of the junction of Peavine Rd and Youngberg Hill Rd. That puts
them within sight of McMinnville, only 1.15 miles from town.
Yikes! They're coming for us.
