Shortly after this afternoon's first shower, a WILLOW FLYCATCHER has found
a productive perch in my yard, 1 mile west of downtown Eugene. It's been
here for about 30 min so far, sallying out and catching flies from its
perch in the laurel hedge/holly bush corner of my yard. In past years, I
often have had a Willow Flycatcher come through and hang out during spring
or fall migration. I will post photos on ebird.
The laurel hedge/holly bush corner is also the favorite hangout for the
BEWICK WRENS which nested here and have done so in past years. Over the
last few days, one of this year's progeny has been attempting to sing,
though the song sounds little like an adult song as of yet.
