Birded the lower part of this road today. The reservoir had a small variety of
waterfowl - CANADA GOOSE (150+), GREEN-WINGED TEAL (18), AMERICAN WIGEON (3),
MALLARD (10), COMMON MERGANSER (19), and HOODED MERGANSER (a pair).
Along the road was one each AMERICAN KESTREL, RED-TAILED HAWK, and ROUGH-LEGGED
HAWK. Two covey of CALIFORNIA QUAIL, 2 WILSON'S SNIPE, and 23 BLACK-BILLED
MAGPIE were along the creek above the reservoir. Sixteen HORNED LARK were on
the slopes above the road.
Nice and sunny today and over 53
