Many members of the pigeon family thrive in the
presence of humans. The White-winged Dove is
no exception. It has been expanding its range
for some time now. I imagine the species will
eventually be regular in Oregon. The Yachats
birds have located a secure food supply and
would be foolish to go back into the sterile Coast
Range. They may stay for months. Lars

Hi All
My brother and I birded Yachats today and found 2 WHITE-WINGED DOVES around
the Aqua vista loop and 101 intersection. We saw both at the same time on the
power line with ECDOs. I am surprised that the WWDO is still around and that
there is 2 now. Any ideas why? We had great views of a TRKI in the same area.
happy birding
