Fun fact: There are 2 recognized subspecies (according to Pyle), one
"coastal" and one "interior" and they are separable in the winter
by the number of white outer tail feathers they show. The character
is clinal, so the more white you see the farther away they likely
migrated.
There was a flock of over 20 at Wireless Rd the other day and many
showed enough white in the tail to make me stop and count outer tail
feathers to make sure there weren't four...
