ago in my yard.

Very observant to notice that this bird was somehow different Donald. I
believe you are correct in your assessment that this is a juvenile and
that's why it seemed striking. When very young they have a streaked breast.
You can't see the breast well in the bird bath photos but it may have
already lost that streaking. The striking facial features remain though.

Raleigh Hills area of southwest Portland.  We have never seen a Waxwing of
either type in our yard in the winter.  My initial thought is that it is a
Bohemian because of the white on the wings and the lack of white above the
facial mask.  The lighter belly feathers and perhaps the area would tend
towards a Cedar.  Perhaps a juvenile of one or the other?  Thanks in
advance for any other thoughts?  We also had a number of Varied Thrush in
the yard yesterday, including one on the top of our fly-through feeder
which is a rarity for a ground feeding bird, but I missed that latter photo.
