After fog yesterday, we awoke to clear skies. A glorious sunrise hit Chief
Joseph Mt and Ruby Peak. The fog had left hoarfrost on every tree, fence, and
thistle. All sparkled in the sun. The temp rose from 7 at sunrise to 17 by
mid-morning.
All the Gray Partridges were still in their beds as we made a circuit of Klages
Rd. We saw a few Red-tails and Bald Eagles.
We headed down valley mid-morning and ran into fog below Lostine.
We reached Imbler by 11 AM and spent an hour watching the feeders at the
O’Dell’s on Newport St. She was very gracious. We did NOT find the
White-winged Crossbill.
The drive home on I-84 was trouble-free.
Good birding, everyone,
Paul Sullivan
