I was at Champoeg park today, luckily with my wife, she was able to verify. This bird was more slender, had a long pileated woodpecker type neck, a pterodactyl looking head. The crest was far thicker, longer and went straight back, hence the pterodactyl reference. The chest was also very light, close to a grayish tint. The call was one I had not heard, but but not surprising with these birds. Has anyone seen a Jay like this? It was distinctly different. Thanks, David
