Hi Obolers:
Here are some recent, late summer and fall bird photos. Love this time of year
for seeing a variety of shorebirds, grouse, and owls.
Most of the shorebirds and Elegant Tern photos were taken from Broughton Beach
or Seaside Cove. My favorite is seeing the Townsend’s Solitaire at 6500 feet
against fall vegetation. There were a dozen or so birds actively feeding
against the rock scree.
Been having a fun time trying out a new camera and lens and still have a lot to
learn and improve on! I think most associate me with focusing on grouse, but
that is not true. I LOVE all type of birds and was limited with my
point-and-shoot camera for years. The fancy chickens were the last group of
birds that I learned how to reliably find. And often, they are real
cooperative for getting close photos.
I love the challenge of finding elusive owls, other birds, and mammals. This
batch of photos display a variety of species. Hope you will enjoy the photos.
