Jackson County birders had an "unofficial" Big Day yesterday, and the
species total hit 104 which was fairly remarkable considering that no one
birded any of the three major bodies of water in the county (Lost Creek
Lake, Agate Lake and Emigrant Lake).
Rarest sighting was the continuing Palm Warbler (first discovered on the
Ashland Christmas Count last Saturday). Also notable was a continuing
Loggerhead Shrike.
Eighteen birders submitted 56 checklists to eBird for the day.
