I recorded a flock of probable Type 5 crossbills this afternoon while
mushroom hunting at Vedanta Retreat in NW Multnomah County. This type
apparently specializes on lodgepole pine and breeds at higher elevations in
the interior west. It has been recorded in Oregon infrequently, especially
away from the mountains. It was a new one for me anyway. Recording
