A second American Tree Sparrow was also found in the count by my team in a
neighborhood in Bandon. My team included three folks who moved to Bandon from
Alaska in the last year that are more familiar with this species than I am and
they immediately recognized it at a backyard gazebo filled with various
different feeders on Division Street in Bandon. The presence may explain why
this area has been so productive in previous CBCs. We also found 10 feeders
with over 100 Anna's at the location as well.

Subject: [obol] Coos A. Tree Sparrow 1/2/17
The A. Tree Sparrow that Lars Norgren and Co. found in Coquille yesterday was
still there. It is at the house adjacent to the boat ramp. They had seed out on
their porch and the area was loaded with sparrows including several
White-throateds. Nice find Lars! A first count record. Saw another OC Warbler
nearby under the bridge feeding on the ground with a sparrow flock.
Later at Millicoma Marsh in Coos Bay the C. Yellowthroat was still around
calling across the pond adjacent to the sewage treatment plant.
Enjoy!
