The Tundra Bean Goose was seen at McFadden Marsh this morning.
R.D. Wallace (Gainesville, FL) and I observed it standing, preening, eating
grass, and walking on the W bank of the Marsh.
I was going to scope from the parking lot just W of the bridge, but R.D. caught
up with me and told me it was best viewed from the parking lot E of the bridge,
where you could walk immediately to the E bank of the Marsh.
The Marsh there is less than 100 yards wide, so Scope views were excellent with
bright sunlight on the Goose.
PSThe Bean Goose is obviously moving back and forth between McFadden Marsh and
Cabell Marsh. In the Observation Blind at Cabell (at the end of The Homer
Campbell boardwalk trail), there is a logbook. It has entries from Jan 28 at
1:30p and also Jan 29 from 9a to Noon.
