Nice report. My impression of your mystery bird is Bushtit. On that side of the
Cascades they have gray rather than brown crowns.

Our bird walk there turned up a few surprises; one of them is difficult to
sort out.
I initially identified the small bird near the bottom of the post as a
gnatcatcher.
