Lois Miller reports a TROPICAL KINGBIRD at her place in Port Orford on
Friday- perhaps it was the Coos bird headed south? I often wonder how may
of these kingbirds actually reverse course and head back south (and not
just die during our cold, wet winters)??
Jamie Fereday sent me a picture of a MTN. CHICKADEE at his feeder in Coos
Bay today- we have had that species 4 times in 40 years on our Coos Bay CBC.
I was out on the south end of the n. spit of Coos Bay this morning and had
an interesting fly-over. It was a longspur-type rattle, probable a
Chestnut-collared, but I never could find the bird to verify it.
Still looking hard for volunteers for the Coos Bay CBC- Sunday the 20th of
December.
Happy birding all!
