Once we get past mid-April, there should not be any flocks of male red-wings
clustered up in ponds in w Oregon.

In case no one happens to mention it, Doug Robinson found a colony in the
heart of the Willamette Valley last year ( or was it the year before?) in
Linn Co, at the quarry ponds off Eicher Rd. Makes me wonder if there are
more colonies out there overlooked? It would be easy to pass off a flock as
red-wings.
