I use the mefoto tripod for my camera and 100-400mm telephoto for travel
and am happy with it. I did replace the standard head with a video type
(pan) head. I think this setup would work well with a spotting scope. It is
not as heavy duty as a standard (eg: Manfroto) scope tripod and thus not as
sturdy/stable in high winds- but that’s the expected trade-off with a
portable tripod.

Can anyone recommend a light-weight travel tripod for a spotting scope--
that easily fits in a standard suitcase? Thanks for any help.
