For the last few weeks there has been a young Steller's Jay that acts like
it wants to be a Hummingbird.
The Scrub Jays and all the other Steller's Jays fly in and land on the suet
feeder whenever they want a snack. However, there is one Steller's Jay who
does it differently. It flies in and hovers at the feeder, grabs suet and
then takes off with it. Sometimes it grabs suet, flies up to the roof to
eat it, and then comes back and grabs more suet before leaving. But it
always hovers, it never lands on the feeder.
