The Swainson’s Thrush I found in NW Portland had a bad wing. I made very sure
that I got both a photo and heard it call knowing how unseasonal it was to
still be this far north. It was as close to a body I could get. Hearing or
better yet getting a recording is most helpful given the problems of
identifying Catharus thrushes here outside their normal occurrence time. See:

As result of having a dog she took daily walks and saw it daily, perhaps
after dark thanks to street lights. It may have lingered into December .
