It was the Day of the Cranes on Sauvie Island yesterday. SANDHILL CRANES were just about everywhere, staging, I suspect, for their big push north. The CANVASBACK pair still is on the lake/marsh in front of the Reeder Road Observation Platform. And the LEUCISTIC GOLDEN-CROWNED SPARROW has made a reappearance on Rentenaar Road, having been absent (or staying well hidden) for the past little while. George Neavoll S.W.
