A bright Swamp Sparrow was at Jackson Bottom in Hillsboro this morning. It was
pretty close to the visitor center at 45.502138, -122.988264. This could be the
same bird that Steve Nord saw a while ago near 45.505223, -122.988351 which
remains a very active spot for sparrows in particular. Also notable were a
grand total of 4 White-throated Sparrows, a flyover Lesser Yellowlegs, 2
American Pipits and a continuing Peregrine Falcon. I also heard a Lincoln's
Sparrows sing this morning!!
Three Cinnamon Teal are back at Emma Jones Nature Preserve in Hillsboro as of
yesterday. Hopefully these are the birds that have wintered there for several
years. An adult Red-shouldered Hawk was also there yesterday.
