I just walked around the block in Seaside, Clatsop County and didn't hear
any passerines. A couple shorebirds called as they moved south, but I
fustratingly couldn't quite place them to species. Probably peeps of some
sort. Not Phalaropes. I heard a Barn Owl at 19:30 from Broadway Field after
tonight's soccer practice.

It sounds like late August out there- calling birds everywhere- very
bizarre to have this many so late. I guess I should keep listening at
night- maybe I will hear them into November too.

Wow- late for this species- the old latest fall record is 23 Oct for
even remotely expecting any. There has been a steady number for a half hour
now- crazy! I did a nocturnal count and had 76 calls in 5 minutes. It is
drizzling with a light rain starting and the calls continue- wow!
