Beautiful weather on Green Ridge today. Winds out of the east, however, did
not produce the number of birds that we were hoping for. Still, those who
stayed until the end of the day were rewarded with the most diversity in
species for the day coming in the last hour, including a Northern Goshawk,
Bald Eagles, and a Harlan's Hawk (Red-tailed).

Next weekend is the last weekend of the Green Ridge Raptor Migration Count.
Hope you can join us! Maybe it will be that big weekend we've been
expecting.

Total migrating raptors counted: 103
Total species: 9 (including Turkey Vultures)
Total counters: 19 + 3 visitors

Osprey - 2
Bald Eagle - 3
Sharp-shinned Hawk - 43
Cooper's Hawk - 15

Golden Eagle - 2
Merlin - 2
Turkey Vultures - 8
Unidentified Accipiter - 1

*Note: Many more raptors were seen, including a Northern Harrier, but we
don't count them unless they pass us going south.

Black-backed Woodpecker
Hairy Woodpecker
American Robins
Williamson's Sapsucker
