The birds and the birders must have been paying attention to the same
weather report as the presence of both at the Green Ridge Raptor Migration
Count was light today. But, both the birds and the birders who showed up
today counted. :) Since the winds were light we had nice long looks at
most of the 68 migrating raptors while they slowly moved south. So we were
still busy watching raptors more than not. We rejoiced with our single
Northern Goshawk and enjoyed finishing the day with a Peregrine Falcon
zooming by, followed soon by a Merlin. A nice highlight was when an adult
Sharp-shinned hawk darted for dinner into the bushes just yards in front of
us.
