I've been feverishly researching this. By process of elimination, I'm now fully
convinced it was a Steller's eider. Although now I'm thinking it was a drake in
eclipse. I thought about the tide thing, I'll check the curve. I have a dinner
in Cannon beach, I'll have until then.
