I counted 58 American Robins in my yard yesterday. The feature of interest was
my holly tree. It takes a couple of freeze-thaw cycles to make theses berries
palatable to birds. I suspect that the time is now "ripe" for eating holly
berries, and the flocks of robins are out looking them.

OBOLers,
I just did my normal walk from the bus station in downtown Springfield to my
nearby work. It was cold (below freezing), still dark, and very foggy. In
the 13 minutes I spent outside walking about half a mile, I had 5 flocks of
ROBINS, around 20-40 birds each, heading mostly west, low enough I could see
them. I heard others that were higher and not visible.
This is not normal for this location. And a fun way to start my morning!
