This morning there was a SURF SCOTER on Bybee Lake in North Portland. It
initially was actively feeding fairly close to the blind there, but then
slowly moved further away.
After being gone the past few weeks, it was nice to return and see both
Tree Swallows and Violet-green Swallows have arrived.
It seems like an odd winter for Pine Siskins by me in NW Portland. This
past fall they arrived in good numbers, stayed awhile but by Jan 1 were
gone. Then yesterday there again was a flock of about 20 in the
neighborhood.
