I birded Skinner Butte in Eugene this morning. Not as many birds as the big
fallout yesterday, but the species diversity was still good. Highlights
were at least three WW PEWEEs, a PAC-SLOPE, a half-dozen or so TANAGERS, a
BH GROSBEAK, ten or so WILSON'S WARBLERS, a BT GRAY, a male YELLOW, a
TOWNSEND'S, a COWBIRD, and a couple of WARBLING VIREOS. I also had a very
dull warbler that, based on my not-so-great views of it, appeared to be
either a dull OC or a TENNESSEE. Maitreya found the bird later and thought
that it was a duller-subspecies OC (forgot the subspecies name).
Maitreya, Sally Hill, Vickie Buck, and Diane Pettey had a SWAINSON'S THRUSH
earlier in the morning and Maitreya also had a fly-by MERLIN.
