I saw and heard the continuing SEDGE WREN at Waite Ranch, Lane county.
I was hoping it would sing (lots of Marsh wrens are now) but just
heard call notes. Saw 4 SWAMP and 3 LINCOLN SPARROWS, but did not
hear any of their vocalizations. A pair of BLACK PHOEBES looked like
they were getting ready to nest build. Waite Ranch is a private
property owned by McKenzie River Trust. www.mckenzieriver.org
Lots singing around Florence now. FOS PURPLE FINCH was singing at
Sutton Campground yesterday. Also have heard Song, Fox and
White-crowned Sparrows, Juncos, House Finch, Robin and Bewicks Wren
singing around town. Both Anna's and Rufous are actively displaying.
Spring is springing!
Good birding,
Daniel Farrar
