On the county lists found on the ECAS website each species can have one of
three designations. "S" indicates the species is a statewide rarity. "C"
indicates a species is a county rarity. Everything else has no designation.
That means a species that has more than 5 sightings in the history of the
county is not-S, not-C. On the 5-point scale, a species could range from 1
(abundant) to 4 (hard to find in a given year.) I used the word "regular"
as shorthand for that broad category.
For example, in Yamhill County Sandhill Cranes are darn hard to find. I've
seen them only twice. Here's what is in the records kept by Tom Love and
Carol Karlen over the years:

I agree that they are darn hard to find in Washington County. I lived there

Washington County? I was one of the most active birders there for a decade,
and a fulltime resident for two decades. I detected the species exactly
