Sometimes good birds don't get reported to OBOL because they are,
instead, reported to local listservs or to eBird. This is the case with
COBOL (Central Oregon Birders Online). Here are a few recent exciting
reports that made it to COBOL but not OBOL.

March records)
Long-billed Curlew - North of Madras - 3/20/16 - Peter Low Lew Rems
(Just about right on time but a little rare in this area.)
Northern Saw-whet Owl - SE of Bend - 3/6/16 - Peter Low (17 March records)
First Rufous Hummingbird - SE of Sisters - 3/27/16 - Sue Tank (I can
only find 3 other March records)
First Northern Rough-winged Swallows - Hatfield Lake (Bend Sewer Ponds)
- 3/26/16 - Peter Low Lew Rems (5th March record)
First Cliff Swallows - Bend Sawyer Park - 3/25/16 - Tony Kutzen
(Earliest record in know of. Previous early record was March 28)
First Orange-crowned Warbler - Powell Butte (Crook County) 3/19/16 -
Joanne Bernt (Earliest record in know of. Previous early record was
March 31)
Vesper Sparrow - Hatfield Lake - 3/19/16 - Peter Low (Earliest record in
know of. Previous early record was April 2)
