Oregon Birders -
I'm a birder from New England coming to the southwestern part of your state in
about a week to try to fill some gaps in my OR statelist. I was especially
targeting species typically unique to SW OR like -
White-tailed Kite
Red-shouldered Hawk
Allen's Hummingbird (but they're not back yet, right?)
Black Phoebe
Oak Titmouse
Juniper Titmouse
Mockingbird
White-throated Sparrow
Swamp Sparrow
California Towhee
And from the coast my targets include Clark's Grebe, Fulmar, Long-tailed Duck,
Snowy Plover, Ruddy Turnstone, Rock Sandpiper, Ancient Murrelet, Cassin's
Auklet, and BL Kittiwake. Plus I have a bunch more landbird targets too. But
I only have 2 days for birding, hence the reason to especially target those SW
specialties and maybe the coastal ones.
Any advice you could pass along for the best birding spots to see my targets
would be most appreciated. And in return I'd be happy to help you find any
birding targets you might have back here in New England.
