Hello, this is the Audubon Society of Portland Rare Bird Report. This report
was made Thursday September 13. If you have anything to add call Harry Nehls

On September 6 a RUBY-THROATED HUMMINGBIRD was reported near Toledo. A FUFF
was at Yaquina Bay September 11. At Summer Lake September 7 was a BLACKPOLL
WARBLER. On September 9 a SABINE¹S GULL and a LITTLE STINT were at Wickiup
Reservoir south of Bend. A BLACK-AND-WHITE WARBLER was at Oak Hill Cemetery
near Eugene September 10. One was at Fort Stevens State Park September 8.
Numerous BUFF-BREASTED SANDPIPERS continue to be seen. On September 8 the
first fliock of CACKLING GEESE was reported at Garibaldi.
On September 10 a RED KNOT was at the South Jetty of the Siuslaw River. A
BLUE-GRAY GNATCATCHER was on the Bayocean Spit of Tillamook Bay September 8.
A LARK SPARROW was seen September 11 along Wireless Road near Astoria.
On September 9 a SABINE¹S GULL was off Sauvie Island. A PARASITIC JAEGER was
on Sauvie Island through the week. One was chasing COMMON TERNS off the
mouth of the Sandy River September 9. On September 10 a CLAY-COLORED SPARROW
was at the Fernhill Wetlands. On September 12 the BARN SWALLOW evening roost
along Dorsey Road south of Dayton contained about 25,000 birds. Check this
roost between 7:00 and 8.00 P.M. Three COMMON TERNS were at Fern Ridge
Reservoir September 8.
At Malheur NWR Headquarters during the week were a CHESTNUT-SIDED WARBLER,
LEAST FLYCATCHER. Two REDSTARTS and a BLACK-BACKED WOODPECKER. At Benson
Pond September 9 was a NORTHERN WATERTHRUSH.
