Hello, this is the Audubon Society of Portland Rare Bird Report. This report
was made Thursday January 7. If you have anything to add call Harry Nehls at

On January 2 a BROAD-WINGED HAWK was reported at Oswald West State Park. A
possible first year male ORCHARD ORIOLE is now being seen at the Hatfield
Science Center on Yaquina Bay. A probable immature SUMMER TANAGER is now
coming to a feeder in Coos Bay. A juvenile YELLOW-BELLIED SAPSUCKER was seen
January 5 just west of the Ferry Street Bridge in Eugene. On January 2 a
group of four GREAT-TAILED GRACKLES were on the Oregon border in McDermitt
Nevada.
Several TURKEY VULTURE reports during the week indicated a possible minor
northward push into southwest Oregon. One was at Cannon Beach January 2.
MOUNTAIN CHICKADEES continue to visit Willamette Valley feeders.
A lone WHITE PELICAN is now being seen at Yaquina Bay and Yaquina Head. A
BULLOCK¹S ORIOLE is now coming to a North Bend feeder. A MOUNTAIN BLUEBIRD
was seen January 6 in Cannon Beach. On January 3 a SCRUB-JAY visited a
Hermiston feeder.
