OBOL,
Reading through responses to the questions about OBOL this morning, I find
some that reflect simple confusion about the mechanics of posting, and I
just want to take a minute to put a few things out there:
*1. How do I post?*
Once you have joined OBOL (www.freelists.org/list/obol), you just write an
email and send it to: obol@xxxxxxxxxxxxx. That's all!
*2. I tried, but my post never showed up!*
I would bet that the people who say this are using Gmail. (I didn't collect
names or email addresses in the survey, so I can't be sure who is saying
this -- but I can be sure 😏 )
Gmail does not send you a copy of your own post to a listserv. But rest
assured that if you are using Gmail, your post DOES show up and the rest of
us see it. Here is Google's explanation for not sending you a copy of your

*3. Unsubscribe does not work!*
It seems to work for some and not others. I have written to the Freelists
software developer and asked his help on this issue. In the meantime, if
you wish to unsubscribe, email me and I will do it for you.
