Sorry forgot the photo.....
This rather cooperative MERLIN was at New River Coos Cty yesterday 5/12/16. It appears to be a Prairie type Merlin, although I am no expert on raptors. If it is, that is a rather rare bird for Coos Cty. Love to hear from some of the raptor pros out there......what you think? Credit to Erica Klygsman for the nice photos.
It looks very much like a Prairie Falcon, but this was a little guy. It was no bigger than 10 inches (you can tell from that sign).
