I watched the eclipse and saw totality in a park in Molalla, and did see
Venus shining brightly and I believe it was Sirius shining brightly lower
in the West. Perhaps did not see more because do not dark adapt quickly
enough, think it was one minute 11 seconds totality in Molalla, and lots to
see with the corona, the 360° sunset, looked for planets and stars briefly,
could not spot Jupiter, so back to the corona, but the time went so fast,
spectacular eclipse, in all the excitement forgot to pay attention to the
birds.

Here in Bend we were at 99.7% totality, but it was amazing how light it
be with only .3% of the sunlight coming through. Was it dark enough tosee
