To beat the cabin fever on this dreary, rainy day, Oscar and I escaped to
the Philomath Sewage Ponds for a brief late-afternoon visit between
squalls. Not much to report, but there has been some noticeable duck
movement - more American Wigeons present than in recent days, and the
EURASIAN WIGEON drake has returned to the NW pond, along with a very
obvious male GREATER SCAUP.
We found no grebes of any kind, and the Black Phoebe(s) have been
absent (or at least inconspicuous) during the past week or more. Zero gulls
and shorebirds.
Lots of swallows present, mostly Tree, with about 20 VGs mixed in.
