Higher than usual numbers of Wilson's Phalarope's (presumably at this time) are
being reported in Sisikiyou/Modoc Cos., at Tule Lake NWR, and in Klamath County
at Upper Klamath Lake, and Lake Ewauna (Klamath Falls). Tule Lake NWR's water
levels are very low, and without Lower Klamath NWR water, they might be more
concentrated and so numbers may seem to be higher. (But, I'm pretty sure the
numbers are much higher than normal for this area.Abert Lake has in the past
been a magnet for migrating Phalarope. I have not heard reports from there.
Without water there, the numbers are likely higher elsewhere.Kevin
