This was new to me, Peregrine(s) actively hunting Cacklers.
From the wash on Sauvie Island today, Tom MacNamara, Ken Chamberlin and I
saw a pair of Peregrines amidst a swarm of Cacklers when Tom and Ken began
to exclaim that one of the falcons had struck a goose,multiple times and (I
finally got on them) we saw the goose land and one falcon circle it closely
but not continue the attack.
I think of Gyr Falcons hunting Cacklers but not Peregrines. We had seen the
two falcons earlier and commented on how large one of them seemed to be. We
thought parent and young at the time.
