Will have to read up on FDR and his love for birds.
TR collected, stuffed, studied and almost became a scientist. Also hunted just
about everything. Lucky for us, he then became president and set aside
refuges, national forests, parks, and so forth.
Recommend reading Douglas Brinkley's "The Wilderness Warrior" and "The Quiet
World: Saving Alaska's Wilderness Kingdom 1879-1960" to get a fuller picture of
his legacy.
On the bird front, we had 3 Band-tailed Pigeons here today.
Good Birding,
John Thomas
