Deschutes County Birds.
Don Sutherland called an hour ago, but I was out doing yard work without
my phone so this is an hour late. Don reported that Evan Thomas found a
female PINE GROSBEAK about .3 of a mile along the trail. Worth looking
for and maybe finding the elusive BC Chickadees as a second prize.
So I called Don and found out this also:
OK, so maybe not an RBA any more if they are semi dependable in Central
Oregon these days, but Don Sutherland was up at the 430 road at
Skyliners this morning and had 2 Pine Grosbeaks near the bottom of the
430, about the area of the 430 road when you are near the old huts that
are off toward the parking circle. They had a Pileated Woodpecker up
higher along the 430, near the gate.
I think I saw an ebird report that Danielle Lordi and Eric Kancler also
saw the Pine Grosbeeaks last weekend on the 430. Good birding, Judy
